World Kidney Day

World Kidney Day is a joined initiative of the International Society of Nephrology (ISN) and the International Foundation of Kidney Foundations (IFKF).
The purpose of World Kidney Day is to raise awareness about the importance of the kidneys and to spread the message that kidney disease is common, harmful and treatable.
On 12th March, 2009, World Kidney Day was celebrated in more than 100 countries. Many of the CEAPIR member associations of kidney patients have participated (e.g. the Irish Kidney Association: blood samples from politicians for testing of the Glomerular Filtration rate - GFR)
