Aims

CEAPIR is a non-profit organisation driven by kidney patients for kidney patients which aims to improve the care and treatment of European Chronic Kidney Disease patients and their carers. In the longer term, CEAPIR is striving to become the European coordination and information centre for all organisations working in this specific sector.

It is expected that the number of patients with End Stage Kidney Disease (ESKD) will grow 4 % per annum in the next years. It is estimated that much more cases of beginning Chronic Kidney Disease will become visible.

CEAPIR hopes, through its activities, to provide answers to the challenges and needs for the kidney patients and their carers as well for society and stakeholders. The exchange of information and expertise and the co-operation will contribute to make information on best practice in all aspects related to Chronic Kidney Disease available throughout Europe.

The CEAPIR main activities therefore are:

• Bringing Kidney disease issues on the EU agenda
• Offering a kidney patients’ view on the European level
• Offering a European view on national kidney matters
• The publication of information material
• The organisation of conferences
• Improving the exchange between the CEAPIR member associations
